Chest pain: If these pains are located on the lower, left side below the rib cage in the upper abdomen, gas entrapment may be the cause. If the pain is aggravated by a deep breath,pleurisy or lung pathology like a pneumonia if you could have cracked lower ribs. Taking simethcone after meals helps reduce intestinal gas entrapment.
