Left-Sided Pain: Left-sided chest pain can be from the heart, lung or the rib cage and surrounding musculature. Less frequently the spleen unless you've experienced recent trauma to the left side. If you have no other symptoms such as light-headedness, shortness of breath or referred pain to the jaw or left arm, your positional discomfort may likely be musculoskeletal in nature.
