Alcohol: Because alcohol is a muscle relaxant, the muscles at the back of your throat ease even more than usual, causing extra-severe symptoms. I believe that as long as you don't get drunk and arrant passing out It should be fine. Every one has different thresh hold.

Alcohol and sleep: Alcohol may help you get to sleep but it does not promote good sleep hygiene and can disrupt your REM cycles. With sleep apnea it could create problems but one unit at dinner should not be an issue as it would be metabolized but the time you went to bed. Think moderation.

Glass?: There is different between one Standard drink and one glass of wine. One SD usually get metabolise in healthy liver within one hour so it should not be a problem however, its not included as safe sleep hygiene practice.
