Yes: Have a anti ccp test run to check for rheumatoid arthritis. More sensitive test. Also run a ANA if dr. Suspects sero-negative arthropathy.

Consider: Consider having a c-reactive protein checked which is another test to look for inflammation since ESR is normal.
