Severe Back Pain: It could be lots of things. A kidney stone is possible as is more severe things like an aortic aneurysm. You need to be seen by a doctor right away for testing.

Sudden back pain bad: My husband had a sudden pain in the lower left back with nausea. It is constant but has waves of Super intense pain. What can this be? Its been about ANS: I do no know age so almost helpless to help. The worst thing I can think of is a directing aortic aneurysms and you need to rush him to ER now. Hope he makes it. But happy to do 2nd opinion now if interested. But I would take him to ER.
