Sure: The HIV virus, and viruses in general, are equal-opportunity germs. They do not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, or ethnicity. Also, "HIV positive" can mean a positive screening test, a positive confirmatory test, etc... A person is truly HIV positive if she has a positive confirmatory test that shows she actually has her own HIV infection.
