No, not unless...: Unless there is something else worrisome about the big picture, just having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is not an emergency. Some people have it for many years before they get diagnosed with it. Tachycardia just means a faster heart rate. Whether or not it is an urgent problem depends on how fast it is, why it is fast, what else a patient is feeling, what the patient's medical background is, etc.
