Time is best healer: A bruise by definition is a reversible trauma to tissue. The most important way to help the area heal is not to re-injure the same area. Contusions (bruises) can remain problematic for a very long time if you were to continue to injure the same area. Treatment include rest, protection, heat or ice, and avoiding re-injury. Not sure how you will rest with a new little puppy?
