Bilirubin: Elevation of direct or conjugated bilirubin suggests some blockage in the biliary tract. Since your symptoms are intermittent there could be sludge or small nonopaque stones in the gall bladder that may intermittently block the common bile duct but won't show up on ultrasound. Have you had evidence of pancreatitis? Have you had a hida scan? Have you been evaluated by gastroenterologist or surgeon
