Pregnancy and psych.: Pregnancy and psychiatric illnesses do happen together. Generally, maternal psychiatric illness is not good for a pregnant woman and definitely is bad for the baby after delivery. That means a woman with such a condition should first consult with her psychiatrist, her primary care doctor, and her Ob-Gyn doctor BEFORE embarking on the pregnancy journey. Pre-plan everything. Meds are important.
