How does anorexia/bulimia affect your body?

Destroys the body: Because bulimia/anorexia becomes a nutritional "nightmare" the body suffers from self destruction. The extra stomach acid eats away at the esophagus, teeth and mouth lining(buccal mucosa). The body starts to use vital muscles for energy after the fat and glucose have been dissipated. Emaciation occurs with electrolyte abnormalities which can result in cardiac arrest and death.

Both are significant problems. Please have a complete physical exam to know if you have a physical illness. Then see a clinical psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy for help coping and a Psychiatrist for medication. A support group can be helpful.
