A member asked:

Had abdominal ultrasound november of 2015 (almost a year ago) --- unremarkable study. 1] is it possible that the ultrasound had missed any concerning pancreatic lesions? 2] how likely pancreatic cancer has progressed to advanced stage since then?

It's a mixed bag: Ultrasound is not very good for looking at the pancreas in general. Could it have missed a cancer? Yes. That said, I see you're only 21 years old, and unless you have some kind of syndrome predisposing to pancreatic cancer, I would recommend you not worry. If you MUST do something, CT or MRI with contrast will be best, but it has to be ordered by a doctor.

Pancreas US: Technically speaking, the abdominal ultrasound does not accurately image the entire pancreas. CT scan and MRI do.
