Joint effusion: If a knee MRI shows only fluid around the knee with no apparent cause of the fluid (effusion). Aspiration o(taking fluid out) and analysysing it can help determine what is the cause of the fluid. Sometimes a tissue biopsy is necessary to help make the diagnosis. Arthroscopic evaluation can help diagnose and sometimes cure the problem.
