Acute bronchitis.: This does sound consistent with acute bronchitis, with that pleuritic type chest pain and productive cough. Are you being treated? 95% of the time acute bronchitis is viral, but steroids usually help eradicate the infection quickly. Sometimes antibiotics are needed. If this has been going on for more than a few days, seek treatment.
