My nephew is 23 has autism. he is on clonazepam 0.5mg twice a day and risperidone 0.25mg twice a day and divalproex extended release 500 mg a day. for temper he still needs alittle something what do you suggest no psychotic drug please.

No quick fix: Temper is a nonspecific complaint. This could be due to a specific comorbid condition that itself requires further treatment, or part of autistic irritability. Often we see cognitive rigidity as difficulty w/ transitions. FDA approved agents for irritability in autism are Abilify and RIsperdal. He needs to be seen by a child psychiatrist or neurologist w/ expertise in this group of patients.
