A member asked:

If one is bitten or scratched by a cat and takes rabies shots after one month, will it be as effective as it would have been if taken within 7 days?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rabies shots protect: The good news is you will be protected since you did not YET have symptoms of rabies. Of course getting seen and treated is usually better, but since you did not develop rabies, there was still time... rabies has a VARIABLE incubation time- which is some cases is quite long (months). You don't want to be an unlucky case that could be a week or 2. I believe you 'made it though' and you will be fine
