Neuropathy: Both Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Ulnar Neuropathy can cause you to wake up out of sleep with numbness in your arms. The most common cause of ulnar neuropathy is compression of the nerve at the level of the elbow. The fact that it's occurring in both arms is a bit less common and raises other possibilities. See your physician for evaluation and possible EMG-NC test.
