Ruptured ear drum that is itchy, does that mean is healing or what?

Possibly: The same nerves that carry pain sensation are also responsible for itch. It's possible that the healing of damaged surface nerves is making it itch. It could also be dry skin in the ear canal because the fluid that is normally behind the ear drum can now get into the external ear canal. If it persists for more than 7-10 days, you should see a doctor to make sure there's no infection in the canal.
