Not if immune: If a guy is immune to HSV1, meaning he is a normal healthy person who has HSV1 antibodies, he should not be able to catch HSV1 elsewhere on his body. That means the places where his HSV1 recurrences happen should only be the places where his HSV1 viruses are already hiding from his initial infection in the past. Of course, life doesn't follow the rules 100% of the time, but that's life.
