A member asked:

How reliable (percentage of accuracy) of 4rd generation hiv test (duo test) at 14.5 day after exposure ? thank you very much

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It is accurate if positive. However, two weeks is too soon to rule out infection. At six months after exposure, get a HIV nucleic acid test, if that is negative, it would be definitive indication of being HIV free. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
