Other data helpful: To do this safely and effectively you need to know your Body Mass Index and your body frame, small, med., large. Please see your doc who will assess your specific situation and then you will know. It's more about your health than the numbers on the scale. Peace and good health. Ask the doc about low carb and higher protein food plan.

Varies: The body mass index assumes average bone structure and muscularity which lessens its authority in making that determination. The average (target) BMI at your age is 21.25 or a weight of 136 lb. The range of normal weights for height by BMI is 118-168.Overweight starts over 168-193,over 193 is considered obese by BMI.

Your: BMI is about 34. To have a BMI of 25. Need to lose about 63lbs. Caveats. # loss of 10 percent of your body weight will be beneficial to your health that is 23lbs.#2 You may need adjustment for body frame and ethnic origin. #3 Any substantial weight loss and healthy lifestyle will be beneficial to your health, mood and self esteem. Good luck in your pursuit of a better health
