A member asked:

Should i take my son to an immunologist? he has strep almost every month, he had his tonsils out and he is not a carrier. also has sinus infections

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Your kids pediatrician could do some screening lab and refer you in if needed. You give no evidence of any serious illness. Frequency of expected infection is age related and significant immune defects put you in the hospital relatively young. Some kids with selective IgA deficiency have more infections than others but your doc can find it & there is no specific treatment.
