Control the itch!: Most spider bites cause inflammation and itching. When you scratch, more histamine is released, and ultimately, more itching ensues. If the bites are growing, becoming warm and painful or draining white liquid - you need evaluation for cellulitis. Otherwise, you can use OTC hydrocortisone cream, antihistamines (diphenhydramine or cetirizine) and ice packs for management.
