A member asked:

Can you have a positive ana with 1:640 speckled dx was lupus then have a negative ana result and still have dx lupus? have many symptoms fatigue, ras

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The diagnosis of Lupus or other Connective Tissue Disorders, are purely Clinical Diagnosis, and ANAs are minor criteria!, what are the major symptoms? And what are the other ENAs(more specific disease associated antibodies). With adequate treatment ANAs may disappear, and may show themselves with flare ups!, See a rheumatologist ,for accurate diagnosis and treatment, Best!
