Gastroenterologist: The studies done are somewhat reassuring, but left upper abdominal discomfort persisting for 2 months calls for further investigation by a gastroenterologist. Gastroscopy may be indicated to look for a gastric ulcer for example. Gas entrapment in the splenic flexure of the colon is a possibility. The gastroenterologist will take a thorough history, examine your abdomen and then advise you.
