Should i shave before i go to my gyn?

Hair is fine: There is no need to shave pubic hair. The more people who shave their pubic hair, the more pressure there will be upon other people to also shave their pubic hair. Since there is nothing inherently abnormal about pubic hair, there is no reason to shave pubic hair. It's just fashion. If one is a teen, she has many other more important things to do, so pubic hair should not be an issue.

Hi, If your question is if pubic hair gets in the way of a pelvic exam, the answer is NO, not at all! There is NO health or hygienic BENEFIT to shaving pubic hair. Trimming pubic hair is an option to aid tampon insertion and sex, and avoids the risk of ingrown hairs from shaving. Still, some shave for cultural, aesthetic, sexual and other personal reasons. That’s okay too- it’s your choice!
