Same drug: Both are generic versions of Norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. They are the same drug just made by different manufacturers. Acne flares are common and the exact cause can not always be determined. You could consider a different birth control pill with a different Progesterone that might be better for acne such as Drospirenone
