OK: There are many over the counter topical preparations that the pharmacist can recommend. In addition i would advise you to wash your face each am with warm water and a mild soap. Pat the skin with a towel to dry the face. Then apply the topical preparation. Iafter 2-3 weeks you see no results then you need to see your family physician for a prescription medication, some topical or oral.

Benzoyl peroxide: I like benzoyl peroxide products, there is a soap panoxyl 5 or 10% which can be used in the shower and is helpful for acne. Fair warning it can bleach out towels, so use old or light colored ones. If your skin is sensitive and dries out easily, salicylic acid might be a better choice. I recommend neutrogena acne wash with 2% sal acid.

Acne: The best over the counter medicine is benzyl peroxide applied to acne areas. If you are scarring the best you can do is see a dermatologist for a program to control the acne and scarring.
