A member asked:

Hemolysis recently & bone marrow showed hypocellularity & bite cells. wouldn't that be consid. symptomatic 4 g6pdd? why drs ignoring?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's usually mild: G6PD deficiency is usually quite mild and most G6PD patients know they have it and by adult life know more about it than their physicians. This is as it should be, and they may be assuming this is true of you. If you're uncertain about your G6PD status, its severity, and whether you were triggered by a medicine, talk with your physician. Best wishes.
