A person can't tell: Wait. A positive pregnancy test can tell a woman that prior symptoms were really implantation spotting. It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period.

Unclear: I'm not exactly sure of the timing of things from your message, but if the last bleeding was unusual for you as far as a normal period it is possible that it could be implantation bleeding, however it is much more likely to be a cycle variation. The next step is to get a blood preg test (more accurate) to see where you are.
