Early pregnancy test: Implantation bleeding happens very commonly. The only real way to answer whether this is an early miscarriage or not is to monitor HCG levels - the quantity of pregnancy hormone in the blood. In early pregnancy the amount of HCG should rise rapidly - approximately double every 2 days. This can give useful information much earlier than a pregnancy can often be seen on ultrasound.
