Syphilis, pregnancy: Something doesn't compute. You cannot self diagnose syphilis, and any doctor who diagnosed it would have made sure you were treated. If somehow it is true you have untreated syphilis, you certainly could become pregnant (syphilis doesn't cause infertility), but you definitely should receive penicillin before you become pregnant. Once treated, there will be no danger for pregnancy or the baby.

Step 1, get antibiotic treatment AND make sure oneself and one's husband are clear of all treatable STD infections. Step 2, wait for the tests to show that treatment was successful. Step 3, resume having sex with one's husband (if neither oneself nor one's husband have any infections on test results, the couple should be safe).
