Check with your doc: The liver is like the kitchen. Many functions. And many things may cause trouble such as high dose tylenol, (acetaminophen) alcohol and many other drugs.

Many: The liver is central to 1) protein synthesis, 2) metabolism, and 3) fluid balance. The liver is dynamic in that it can react to exposure to any number of insults. Chronic exposure to insult be it viral hepatitis or alcohol, will cause scarring. Scarring will effect the ability of the liver to function resulting in symptoms of insufficiency.
