A member asked:

I am reading that shaving can cause a genital herpes outbreak...i was wondering if it would be better to use an electronic razor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Do not shave: The current craze about shaving parts notwithstanding, it is a bad practice and more likely to cause infection in the area. Leave it alone and wash the area well when you shower. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex.
