See answer: The recommended weight is based on hight. Physicians usually look at the BMI, Body Mass Index. You can find BMI calculators online or for smart phone apps: < 18.5 = underweight, 18.5 - 24.9 = normal, 25 - 29.9 = overweight, 30 - 34.9 =obesity,35 -35.9 = morbid obesity, 40 or > = extreme obesity. Quick rule of thumb: normal weight = 100 lbs + 5 lbs for every inch over 5 feet for female.
