Herpes zoster?: "Herpes rash" the scalp probably is herpes zoster (shingles), not herpes simplex. If a doctor diagnosed it, s/he probably prescribed standard treatment like valacyclovir, and maybe also a corticosteroid like prednisone. If not, contact the doctor. If this is self diagnosed and you haven't seen a doctor, do it ASAP for proper care -- the sooner the better for effective treatment.
