Ultrasound: Abdominal pain can be caused by many different ailments. If you think this may be linked to the intense exercise, then there are chances it could be a muscular strain. However there are other structures nearby where the pain could originate from such as the appendix, colon, ovaries, fallopian tubes, kidneys, ureters, ribs, gall bladder and liver. If pain is ongoing you will need an ultrasound.

Post exercise: Since the discomfort develops only after exercise, muscular strain appears to be the most likely cause. Nevertheless it would be advisable to have a physician carefully examine your abdomen to check for abnormalities such as a hernia, enlarged liver, abnormal mass,etc.
