I was recently on metronidazole 3 wks ago for bv, got rechecked and still have it. i am a clean person-unscent soap, no douching.any ideas to prevent?

Recurrent BV...: ...is common, difficult, often very frustrating for both patients and their doctors. It has nothing to do with hygiene or type of soap. Sex often triggers BV and consistent condoms might help. Preventive treatment with vaginal metronidazole (MetroGel®) or boric acid vaginal capsules often is effective. If your doc is unfamiliar with these, find a gyn with interest in infectious diseases.
