For past 6 mths or so i have a burning/stabbing /twisting pain in my left upper abdomen. it keeps me awake at night and little relieves it.

Should seek help: Any pain in abdomen which is lingering for more than one month requires a medical examination and further medical testing. If the pain wakes you up or keeps you up at night, it needs to be treated once the cause has been determined. Go see your PCP ASAP and do not delay it any more.
