This is normal: Shin pain after ACL surgery is completely normal. A hole has to be drilled in your shin bone up into your knee joint for the ACL graft to be placed and it is also fixed into your shin with a fixation device (usually a screw or button). Depending on what type of graft you had, this can also cause shin pain. Calf pain however isn't so common and should be evaluated to rule-out a blood clot.
