A member asked:

I was given a steroid shot a nasan ty ear infection, . can steroids raise heart rate. it's been 112-120 for hours. can the infection cause tachycard?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infection can/pain: Steroids are a natural stress hormone the body also makes in response to illness/stress. It shouldn't raise your heart rate, but the infection and the pain involved can release other stress chemicals ,mainly Adrenalin that does raise the rate.
