Needs examination: It is difficult to comment without seeing a picture of the lump. It could be something simple like a small sweat gland cyst which can get infected once in a while. It could also be something more concerning such as skin cancer. It is important that you see your doctor asap to get the area examined. A biopsy may need to be taken to determine the cause.
