Don't smoke: Tobacco use is a known risk factor for pancreatic cancer. If you smoke, you should strongly consider quitting for numerous medical reasons.

Depends: There are at least 4 or 5 syndromes i can think of that can increase your risk of pancreatic cancer, depends on how strong your family history is. You should talk to your primary doc about it. He or she may send you to see a specialist with expertise in this matter. They will do a full family history and determine the need for genetic testing and for preventative measures. Best to you.
