Diatrizoate: is an x-ray contrast agent(Hypaque, Gastrograffin). Allergy is the immune system's over-reaction to various stimuli(antigens). Allergy to diatrizoate is rare, but can occur. Allergic reaction can range in severity from mild(hives) to life-threatening(anaphylaxis).
