One example: One example of injecting bone cement is during a procedure called kyphoplasty. This is done when people have compression fractures of the vertebra in the spine which can cause pain. Bone cement is injected into the fracture to restore height of the vertebra by a special doctor called an interventional radiologist. This type of doctor does procedures with x-ray, ultrasound or ct guidance
