Hand Foot Mouth: Disease is caused by an enterovirus such as cocksackie A16 virus. Characteristic lesions are small painful blisters, sores on the palms of hands, soles of feet ,mouth and diaper area . Sometimes accompanied with fever, sore throat , vomiting and diarrhea. 3-6 day incubation period from contact to illness. Occurs mainly in children under 10 but can be seen in adults.
