Abnormal heart valve: Any structural abnormality causing dysfunction of one or more of the valves in the heart. This may produce an obstruction to blood flow, a leakage of blood back across the valve or a combination of both. These issues can often be managed medically for a time but may eventually require repair or replacement of the diseased valve.
