What is the definition or description of: spastic paralysis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spasticity: Spasticity is a velocity dependent increase in muscle tone. It is the result of an upper motor neuron injury such as stroke, spinal cord injury, or brain injury. It typically may occur in muscles that cross two joints. As the central nervous system recovers from the injury, a paralysis may be present, but an imbalanced muscle tone may develop as a part of the recovery process.
