Impaired adrenals: Adrenal insufficiency is either an absent or abnormally low production and/or secretion of hormones produced by the adrenal gland. Hormones produced by the adrenal glands include those involved with salt regulation, sugar metabolism, and sex hormones (e.g. derivatives of testosterone).
