Sciatic nerve: Sciatica is an uncommon disorder of involvement of the Sciatic nerve, which innervates different areas of the thigh and lower leg. Often times this presents as foot drop, due to the overall sensitivity of the Peroneal Nerve which emanates from the Sciatic Nerve. Neurologic examination and electrodiagnostics can help with diagnosis, which needs to be differentiated from root and plexus issues.
